Artist | Digital Scrapbook Page

Good Morning! here is a layout i did for Nuts About Sketches . With this page i decided about half way through to do everything in black and white except the pictures, title and journaling. Reagan loves to paint so i took some pictures so i could do a layout for her scrapbook.

Nuts About Sketches week 229

I made the new Design Team over at Nuts About Sketches! I'm so excited to get to design pages from Shawn's sketches, as you know, i love them!!! Here is the first week that i did.
On the left side i changed the 2 - 5x7's to 3 - 4x6's. I loved this series of my dad and reagan taking pictures with his professional camera, and i wanted to keep them on the same page. on the right hand side i made the 7x5 image bigger, since i had the space where the journaling strip was suppose to be. plus i added a little 3x3 image to the top corner of where you can see that dad is taking the picture. I LOVE this picture of my mom & my girls, its one of my favorites!!
I used a variety of kits, mixing them together to get the look i wanted. I hope you enjoy and check out the Nuts About Sketches blog to see what the other design team members did with this same sketch! And feel free to leave a comment or question, I'd love to hear from you!!! :)

family traditions | digital scrapbook page

i'm back this morning with another digital layout! i worked most of the weekend in my new craft space getting it all set up! im hoping to start filming some of my layouts and see what everyone thinks about that. so anyway back to todays layout! I used this sketch from Nuts About Sketches, i started out with 14 images from this event. every year, my husbands family & extended family gets together on Memorial Day to have dinner. so these pictures are from that. His grandma is in the red shirt, this was not too long after she found out she had breast cancer, after several rounds of chemo, she is cancer free at this time!!! Praise God for answering prayers and healing her!
One of my mother-in-law's cousins found these pink Dora cowboy boots & a dora backpack that she had to get for reagan! Although she has out grown the boots we still use the backpack. reagan absolutely loved it all!!

i was able to narrow the images  down to 11. here is the sketch...

i used this kit from Christine Smith Digital Design. i love the woodgrain and the color combos are bright modern colors but they have a vintagy feel - really awesome! you get several "papers" plus lots of embellishments!! I'm looking forward to using it on some more pages!
hope you enjoyed todays post! please leave a comment and let me know if there is any theme you'd like to see a layout on and i will do my best to put one together for you! and ill be back tomorrow with another layout! have a GREAT monday!!!!

Mommy's little Helper | Digital Scrapbook Page

this was are really fast layout, once i gathered all my papers. i took the colors from reagan's pjs. i thought i'd keep it really simple and use mostly solid papers. i could have very easily kicked it up a notch by adding some layers under the images and adding more to the clusters, but i wanted something very clean and simple.

Winney the Pooh & Reagan too! | Digital Scrapbook Page

Hello Monday! Here is a bright page to start the week off with. I love using bright colors on a white background, the colors just pop! it makes me happy! this page came together super fast, i had to alter every "paper" (except the yellow one) to match the colors i wanted to use. i kept the cluster in the top right corner but just put some dots in the bottom left corner. since my picture is bigger than a 4x6 i didn't think it needed the big cluster. hope this inspires you to use a white background and throw some bright colors on it!!!! Have a great week! Please feel free to comment! :)

just like daddy | digital scrapbooking page

i knew i wanted to go with bright colors (whats new?) with this picture. not only is r wearing a rainbow shirt the band hat (im not sure if it has an official name, im sure keith will let me know when he reads this!) is solid purple & gold. i though this sketch would be fun to make the elements on the right be in rainbow colors, so that really why i selected this sketch! i only changed the photo to vertical and the shape of the one of the papers, i just love the top note shape! hope you enjoyed and leave a comment!

where did reagan go? | digital scrapbook page

somehow these images were saved in a very low resolution. so i knew i needed a sketch where they would be small. i flipped the images in this sketch but other than that i kept to it. i used everything, except the alphas, from one kit called "Happy Go Lucky" from Shabby Princess. The main color in the pictures is Reagan's purple outfit, so that is what i was looking for. then i found this kit and the warm orangey-yellow colors went really well with color of my cabinets. this was a very fast layout, everything just kinda came together. i had fun with this one! thanks for looking & please feel free to leave a comment!

every child is an artist | digital scrapbook page

i had so much fun working with old pictures that i pulled out some from 2009. this was reagan's first time to "do art". once i decided on a sketch and was looking through the kits i got so excited when i found the crayons - i knew how i wanted to use them! i needed 2 vertical spaces on the right but the sketch had 2 horizontal. so i rotated them which gave me space to add the "little artist" cluster.

cold snowy day | digital scrapbook page

its been such a hot summer i thought id take a break from the heat and work with some snow pictures from a few years ago. i used a sketch for 9 images from Nuts About Sketches, i ended up with this one and then i decide to only use 8 images. i changed the right side at the top, instead of 3 images i did 2 and made the larger. and i made the image on the bottom right a circle instead of a vertical image. the digital kit i used was called "winter wonderland" that i downloaded from two peas in a bucket several years ago. i changed some of the colors in the kit to match my images better. thats the fun part of digital! :) i also changed the alpha i used to match better.

playtime: digital scrapbook page

here is a 2 page spread that i made in photoshop. once again, i used a mixture of supplies. i will try to keep track of what supplies i use next time. i used this sketch from nuts about sketches.
i rotated one of the 4x6's to fit my pictures better. And i changed the shape of the element under the 4x6's, the sketch shows a circle but i'm really diggin' this top note shape. I also liked that it was close to the same color as the slide. (which I'm thinking about painting one of these days!) I kept the little cluster of elements in the bottom right corner, and used some washi tape to finish it off. I LOVE the scrabble tiles for titles. I changed the colors of the "r", "&" and "a", they were a bronze color but that was too dark. My color pallet came from their clothes, lime, pink and navy.

giggles and grins

this was a fun little layout, maybe because the pictures were so stinkin' cute! I always like pages where ya mix up color prints with black and white prints, but for some reason i hardly ever do it. why is that? anyway i thought id do it with this page and im so glad i did, i think it really add some intrest to the page. i used a bunch of different "paper" from different kits, just looking for some that went well with abby's shirt. one of the last things i added was the big top note shape under the prints, and boy howdy do i LOVE that!!! i was inspired by a sketch from Nuts About Sketches, its so nice to be able to pull up your images and go to Nuts about Sketches and find a layout and jump right in. without a sketch i seem to sit and stare at the images and not know where to start, but with a sketch, you have a plan and you can get started and get pages done. and to me thats the point of scrapbooking, to get your pictures off your camera and/or computer and on a page in your scrapbook for everyone to enjoy!

hair cut

ive been doing lots of digital pages lately, its just so much easier when you have little ones running around. so reagan got a big girl hair cut, she was a bit nervous at first, she thought her hair would turn brown like Rapunzel. but now she loves her new do!
i thought i would have a hard time finding a sketch for 14 images, but it was really easy. i found this on Nuts About Sketches. the sketch was for 15 images but i had one (the 1st on on the 3rd row) that was vertical and i wanted to keep the whole image because abby was "riding" on the chair as leah would spin reagan around. so i just had that one image take up 2 spaces. ive been really busy this summer and the past few week especially, so i stuck really close to the sketch. i used a variety of digital supplies, changing some of the colors to match my colors better.
