Project Life | Week 48

I'm at week 48 and tomorrow is New Year's Eve! I REALLY want to finish 2012 with PL2012 done, so we will see if i can pull it off! :) For 2013 i'm going back to traditional Project Life and I'm super stoked about it! I'm on the waiting list at Studio Calico for their Project Life monthly kit so I'm gonna wait until i get my hands on that kit to see if i need to order "Seafoam". don't get me wrong. . . . i WANT to order Seafoam, but I'm try to be good and only get want i need. because if i got want i wanted for project life we would need to build on another room in our house just hold it all!!! :D Until i receive the monthly kits i plan to use "printables" that i already have.

Quick card

I made this card this morning using some stamps from Hero Arts/Studio Calico and some Ali Edwards. I got these stamps with Project life in mind but wanted to use them as soon as I got them! The ink I used is all from Stampin' Up!

Recommendations | School & Sports Pages

ok so you want to get all your school & sport pictures in a scrapbook but you aren't sure what supplies are out there to use. well here is what i would recommend and/or have used to create school & sport pages. I will be posting some of the sports & school pages that i've done in the next few days, so stay tuned!:)

1. School/Team Colors - look for papers that have your school/team colors in them. Plus its always nice to have some neutrals on hand, like these from American Crafts that you can order from Two Peas in a Bucket.

Concrete 12X12 Textured Cardstock by American Crafts
Take Note 12X12 Seen & Noted Paper by Pebbles
Lockers/Grey Text 12X12 Makin The Grade Paper by Little Yellow Bicycle
Yearbook 12X12 Collection Pack by Studio Calico
Alphabet Junction 12X12 Collection Kits by Carta Bella

 2. the 411 - you gotta document the "who, what, when, where and why" and instead of listing all together i like to add this info with embellishments! you can tuck dates, locations, stories and names & ages on different embellishments and spread it around the page.

3. Stickers - i'm currently building up my Alpha Sticker collection. i like to use them as a title. on school pictures i would use alpha stickers for the grade or year. on sports, the team name or year. they come in almost any color and size you can think of. i'd get different sizes, you never know what you might need.

Label Stickers are also a good thing to have in your stash . . .

4. then comes my favorite. . . STAMPS! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE STAMPS! why? because you can use them over & over & over and change the colors to match whatever you are working on! I've been adding to my rubber stamp collection for many years and some of the ones i bought early on i don't use that much, but there are a few that very versatile that i still use! right now with project life being so big in the scrapbooking world you can find LOTS of "documenting life" stamps.

5. Cricut -  if you have a Cricut you can have all kinds of fun scrapbooking with it. This cartridge has great cuts for sports!

Hopefully this post didn't over whelm you, but give some ideas to the products that are out there to help us document our lives for the next generation to enjoy! Please feel free to leave a comment or question!

Project Life | Week 38

what a colorful week! I love all the bright colors, to me, its very young and energetic! We played out side quite a bit, the weather has been SO nice that it's hard to stay inside. So, after school is done and Abby Jo wakes up from her afternoon nap we've been going out to play for a few hours each night. The girls are still loving the chalkboard! i try to clean it off each morning so its ready for them when they wake up. i like to leave it at night so that keith can see what they did. i'm trying to remember to use the timer on my camera so that i can get in some shots. keith and i got to have a mini date night! i got to watch him bowl so i took a picture to include it in this weeks layout, because thats part of his life right now. i hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave a comment!!!

project life | week 37

the major thing going on this week was the war with the markers! abby jo kept finding markers but i couldn't! so i finally had enough and put the ALL up!    Reagan started watching how-to-draw youtube videos (yay!) the rest is pretty much normal stuff.
i kept the design really simple, i like that the only pattern paper used was chevron. lots of fun!

Project Life | week 35

this week was our county fair! for the past 4 years reagan has ridden the merry-go-round with my dad, its quite possible the highlight of her year! this year abby jo got to too! abby jo has discovered my mom's ipad - and she LOVES it! my mother-in-law found a turtle just in time for her & reagan to join the Turtle Races at the fair, they won 2nd place!
the polka dot pattern at the top left was my color pallet this week. im not that good with journaling, im more of a "a picture is worth a thousand words" type. so i normally just do a little "tag" journal style on each picture just to explain what the picture is about.

Pinterest Project : Chalkboard

so i seen chalkboards everywhere on Pinterest. this is a wall in the kitchen and it gets alot of traffic so you can't really put anything in front of it. it just made sense to turn it into a chalkboard! we painted it with a few coats of chalkboard paint and the girls LOVE it!! the bottom part is for the girls  and the top part is where keith & i can leave notes and msgs to each other!

Shopping Trip

i have a hard time passing up a sale on Hamburger Helper, so with it on sale + .75 off 3 boxes coupons = .75 a box! i just had to get some! And hamburger was a on sale too! its like they planned it! :) the ivory soap was on sale for .99 at Walgreens and i had a coupon for .30 off ivory cleansing products, the only exclusions was trial size. i wasn't sure they'd accept it since it had a picture of a liquid bottle on it, but they did!  so over all we had a successful trip!!!

Week 32 | Project Life

my style for project life has changed over the year, it started out with scrapbook sketches, then i came across Project Life Design Team member Lindsay Moreno and then i changed from sketches to page protector layouts. this makes the design process SO much faster! plus its easier to look at. i also started branching out and using other supplies. i REALLY like this! then after some more time my style for project life and regular scrapbooking mixed. im learning to layer and build little clusters like Nichol Magouirk and Tracy. this is really fun to work on the little "cells" instead of working on the whole page.

week 31 | Project Life

Im behind on Project Life 2012, so over the weekend i hope to get caught up! So if when i do i will post them here next week. this is my second year to do this project, last year i did the traditional version and with having a new baby i didn't complete it. :( but i am still working on it and will compete it! for 2012 i decided to go digital with it and ive been able to keep up with it. ive been a few weeks behind here & there but for the most part - -  im on top of it! but i miss getting to touch and feel the products & getting to add all the little tid bits of the week. so next year i plan to do the traditional version again.
so this week was our vacation in florida with our families. my husbands cousin got married on the beach and my parents went to take pictures and watch the girls. grandma wanda went with us along with keith's parents and 2 siblings and his Aunt & Uncle (parents of the groom) and the groom and his brother. so it was a full condo and lots of fun!

Artist | Digital Scrapbook Page

Good Morning! here is a layout i did for Nuts About Sketches . With this page i decided about half way through to do everything in black and white except the pictures, title and journaling. Reagan loves to paint so i took some pictures so i could do a layout for her scrapbook.

Nuts About Sketches week 229

I made the new Design Team over at Nuts About Sketches! I'm so excited to get to design pages from Shawn's sketches, as you know, i love them!!! Here is the first week that i did.
On the left side i changed the 2 - 5x7's to 3 - 4x6's. I loved this series of my dad and reagan taking pictures with his professional camera, and i wanted to keep them on the same page. on the right hand side i made the 7x5 image bigger, since i had the space where the journaling strip was suppose to be. plus i added a little 3x3 image to the top corner of where you can see that dad is taking the picture. I LOVE this picture of my mom & my girls, its one of my favorites!!
I used a variety of kits, mixing them together to get the look i wanted. I hope you enjoy and check out the Nuts About Sketches blog to see what the other design team members did with this same sketch! And feel free to leave a comment or question, I'd love to hear from you!!! :)
