Project : Cookbook


We are starting a Cookbook scrapbook with the ladies that we scrap with. February is our first month and it is all about Appetizers! There is only 4 us in this project so we are doing 2 recipes each month. My are two entry are "Crab Dip" and "Jerk Chicken Nachos"! The "Crab Dip" is traditional scrapbooking and the "Jerk Chicken Nachos" is digital scrapbooking.

Homemade Card Display


here is my card displays that I made yesterday. I'm planning to put them at the studio. They were fairly easy to make, where is what I used...

2 frames (1-20x24 & 1 -15x30) & boards that same size
2 pkg of 12x12 corkboard
adhesive
2 spools of ribbon - brown grossgrain
1 pkg thumb tacks
framing supplies

First, I did a dry fit of the cork board and cut the pieces I needed. Then glue them down to the board.

Second, I laid the ribbon down and figured where it needed to go. Then cut it & tack it with a thumbtack and wrap it around the edge of the board and pull it to the right spot, wrapped it, tacked it and cut it. Repeat until board looks good.

Third, I pushed a tack where the ribbon crossed over the other ribbon. Then frame it up & load it up!

Easy peesy!

I'm gonna get some decorative brads to replace the white thumbtacks as soon as I find the ones I like!

Reagan Story - "the magic word"

Last night while Keith & I were making supper, Reagan came in the kitchen and asked Keith to get her some juice. Keith , trying to get her to remember to say "please", looked at her and said "whats the magic word?". She thought a minute and responded "abracadabra".

Lifestyle Change: Day One

I've been wanting to start eating healthier than what we do. I have many reason to want this... #1 we have a 2 year old little girl, she is forming her eating habits that she will have the rest of her life. If we can get her to enjoy healthier foods now then when she is older it will be a no brainer for her to to have a healthy life. #2 I want to feel better! I want to play, run, jump, and be active with my daughter. #3 there are SO many things that I want to do in a day that I dont get done because I have no energy... and that, well frankly, sucks. There are more reasons that I can list, but you know them, you've probable have had the same thoughts. So I feel NOW IS THE TIME!
So, Day One.. NO MORE DR.PEPPER! (ouch! sniff sniff) Just water for awhile. I have had a SMALL piece (like a mini fun size) bar of chocolate... to help with the headache of course! ;) That and Excedrin have done the trick.
I need to learn how to manage my stress better! When I start to get stressed I can go my craft room and work on something and that REALLY helps. But if I get TOO stressed then nothing seems to help but... cookies & dr.pepper, like I had for supper one night this past week. So, I can't let it get to that point! I'm gonna try... to quote Mr Darcy... "I shall conquer this! I SHALL!"
